Therapy is for you.

Stress. Overwhelm. Worry. Anxiety. Depression. Trauma. Feeling hopeless. Unexpected life changes. Illness. Life is a struggle. Do any of these words resonate with you? Life can be challenging and difficult to cope with. Sometimes extra support is needed.

Where ever you are in life, what ever struggle you are facing, there is hope and you can live a more fulfilled life. You are the expert on your life and already have the ability to make the changes you are seeking, but you do not have to do this alone.

Therapy can help give you the resources, clarity, support and tools to begin your journey to heal and overcome anything that is currently holding you back from living your best life.

What to Expect

Whether this is your fist time seeking therapy or you have been in therapy before, seeking help can be a difficult first step for many people. We are proud of you for taking the first step by being here. During your first appointment, you and your therapist will take time to get to know each other. The biggest key to success in therapy is for you to feel comfortable with your therapist. The first appointment involves a lot of information gathering and you being able to share what you want to gain from receiving therapy. This helps us develop the best plan for treatment. Within the first couple of sessions, together we will identify goals and make a treatment plan that is individualized to your specific needs.

How long will you need therapy? This varies from person to person. For some, the therapy process is specifically focused on one or two goals that can be achieved in just a few months. For most people, therapy is a long-term commitment and some people can be in therapy for years. We will periodically check in on how you are doing and where you are at and decide together when it is time to decrease frequency of sessions or complete therapy.

What therapy is not: Therapy is not a quick fix. Some people have the expectation that they will come, tell the therapist what struggle they are experiencing and the therapist will tell them how to “fix it.” In order to make real changes and heal, you will have to put in work. We may challenge you and push you to face uncomfortable emotions and painful past experiences; sometimes you have to go through it to come through it. The most important thing to remember is we are in this together and you have already survived anything that comes up during therapy sessions. You are resilient. You are brave. You can face the hard stuff and overcome it and we will be right by your side to guide you through this journey.
